We're a physics professor and a math professor at a big state university, and parents to two kids.
Screen time felt like a missed opportunity, so we set out to make it active time: kids learning, creating, and genuinely enjoying it. But the apps kept letting us down. Too many were overstimulating and taught nothing, others hid behind subscriptions, and plenty were just poorly made.
So we started building our own. Sapling Hollow Studios makes apps that help kids learn and create. They're approachable for children as young as 3, but genuinely fun at any age, grown-ups included.
